CMCC beat Lanna CC by 25 runs in a competitive 25-over match on Sunday 5th November as the new season got underway at Gymkhana Club in enjoyable fashion.
CMCC again beat Lanna the following Sunday in another high-scoring encounter. Chanchai strengthened the Lanna team, scoring an unbeaten 46 and taking two wickets in one over. Sami took the honours for CMCC as he retired on 65 not out as CMCC continued their run of success against Lanna by chasing a total of 198 with only four wickets down.
The season will continue with another contest between Lanna and CMCC on Sunday 19th November at 1230 after the boys from Lamphun will again be playing a Sixes competition in the morning as they get ready for the Gymkhana Sixes on 25th and 26th November.
Ten teams will be taking part in the Gymkhana Sixes in two Divisions, Players and Gents, and there are teams from Pattaya, Laos, Bangkok and Koh Chang taking on the local teams as the tournament which was started during the Covid pandemic but is now a feature of the cricket season as it reaches its fourth edition. There have been three different winners of the Cup, Lamphun, All Stars and Pattaya CC, so who will be the champions of Gymkhana Sixes IV?
