Gymkhana Club were recently invited to play cricket against Royal Bangkok Sports Club at the magnificent Polo Ground in Bangkok. A strong team was selected with six Lanna players, three All Stars and two from CMCC.
It proved a winning combination as Gymkhana Club reached 154 for 7 in 25 overs thanks to Nev McLean retired on 31 from 33 balls in an innings in which he ran every run and Nick Janes retired on 32 from 31 balls with three boundaries.
Insha hit the only six of the innings but RBSC started well with Gaurav reaching 30 and Ana’s hitting 29 and with Princy also batting well it was left to Insha to claim four wickets for 19 and coming close to a hat-trick as Gymkhana won by 12 runs.
Both sides and officials then retired to a conference room for food and drinks provided by RBSC and future tours were soon in the planning.
