Chiang Mai Lanna CC and the Chiang Mai Schools Cricket Alliance welcome the ACST to Chiang Mai where they will be holding their 50th competition with a very special event called the Siam International Cricket Sevens between 16th and 18th November 2018 held at Gymkhana Club. Lanna CC are proud to be hosting such a memorable event and are grateful to ACST for generously allowing all proceeds from selling food and drink at the ground to be donated to CMSCA to support their program of coaching in schools and for young Thai players to be able to play cricket on the historic Gymkhana ground.
The ACST are expecting 12 to 14 teams from around the world to play in the Siam Sevens as ACST celebrate their 50th event in grand style. We would like to send a special welcome to all members of the CBB Cricket Club which will be playing cricket in Chiang Mai for the very first time despite players regularly visiting the UN Irish Pub where the club has its spiritual home in the upstairs bar.
The special 50th tournament celebration gets under way on the evening of the 15th of November at UN Irish Pub where the captains and officials meeting for the Siam Sevens will be held and Sandy is also hosting a party to welcome the CBBs back to Chiang Mai. The squads for the two CBB teams will be announced for their historic first matches in Chiang Mai after the club has been arranging tours all over the world for many years.
Three days of cricket will be played at Gymkhana Club between 9.30 am and 5.00 pm on 16th, 17th, 18th November and there will also be a buffet laid on at Zoom Bar on the Friday evening and a lavish celebration dinner at Duangtuwan Hotel on the Saturday evening. Presentations will be held at Gymkhana Club at the end of play on Sunday and the bar will stay open so that players and supporters can reflect on a wonderful few days putting ‘Friendship through Cricket’ into action.
Please will all players and supporters of Lanna CC support this special event by coming to watch some exciting cricket and buying the food and drink provided so that CMSCA and junior cricket can benefit. Many of our young Thai players will be playing in the tournament with various teams and of course it will be a once in a lifetime experience to watch the CBBs in action in Chiang Mai for the first time.
