It was a historic day for the development of cricket in the Land of Smiles as Thailand won a bronze medal in the men’s 50-over cricket competition at the Southeast Asia Games in Kuala Lumpur. Hosts Malaysia won gold, while Singapore won silver, but Thailand could be well please with the bronze medal after victories against Myanmar and Indonesia. The Thai boys fought hard in their final match against Singapore before losing by 63 runs and Bunchuai and Chanchai again impressed as they shared a good partnership together. The men’s 20-over competition will provide a good opportunity for another medal and the women’s team look well on course for a gold medal after victories against Indonesia and Malaysia.
