CMCC showed that they could field a powerful side and can score heavily when the force is with them as Tanveer made 47 and Ismail 77 to lead CMCC to an impressive 227 for 9 in 30 overs. Memories of the batting collapses from last season were banished. CMCC’s nemesis Eddie Joyner had not made the journey from Lamphun but Ismail in particular dominated against Lanna’s bowling attack and Ubaid and Asif are useful players to come in down the order.
Lanna did not have one of their better days with the bat as they collapsed to 106 all out even though Tom ended the innings with a flourish to make an unbeaten 12 but he was denied the chance of being top score as Daniel Lawson was out in the 29th over after a 48 ball marathon.
CMCC won the match by a formidable 123 runs but it had been an impressive rearguard by Lanna as they tried to bat out the full 30 overs.
