Children have a great day in CMSCA Sawasdee competition at Mae On Wittalayai

It was a great day at Mae On Wittalayai when CMSCA held a Sawasdee Cricket competition with children from six schools enjoying themselves immensely as each team had the chance to play three softball matches. These children will build on an early love of cricket and become the hardball stars of the future.

The school’s headmaster is a great supporter of cricket and he went to a lot of trouble to put on a big show as he invited dignitaries from the local council to watch proceedings and provided the school band to take part in a parade with the teams. It was a very special occasion as the national anthem was played during a flag-raising ceremony. The school’s new net facility was also officially opened with a ribbon being cut and a demonstration of the bowling machine being given.

It was also good to see Peter Dawson on hand to present the prizes as Peter has been a dedicated servant of CMSCA, standing both as secretary and treasurer. Martin and Puy Papworth can be proud of their efforts in putting on such a wonderful day for the children and Martin’s parents were there to enjoy it all.

Buak Kroc Noi School beat Huai Kaew on the final, while Mae On girls beat Sahagon II A team to come third, while Prem finished fifth and Sahagon II B team sixth. All The children will have a chance to play another day’s softball cricket in the Sixes Sawasdee Cup which will be held at Prem International School on the 7th of March. Put the date in your diaries now.
