The teams returned to Royals on the Sunday and the match was a much closer contest as the home side batted much better to reach 138 for 9 in 25 overs and bowled out RBSC for 130 to gain a narrow victory.
Naveed and Ubaid shared an opening partnership of 40 and Wani hit three sixes in his innings of 30 to make up for the previous day’s duck and Burhan’s 23 saw the home side through to a competitive total as Jackson and Wadood both took three wickets.
RBSC also started steadily and were tied down by a tidy opening spell from Burhan and Ismail and Ubaid looked to have put Chiang Mai on the way to a comfortable victory by taking three wickets apiece but Vishal mounted a late charge by making 36 during a last wicket partnership of 40 with Raju but Cher held his nerve and claimed the last wicket as the home side triumphed by eight runs.
Honours were even over the two matches with RBSC winning the first contest and Chiang Mai levelling the series. Royal Bangkok Sports Club had enjoyed their visit into the countryside and had avoided the worst of the rain and had also been impressed by the number of juniors involved in Chiang Mai cricket.
