The Chiang Mai Big Bash is on at Gymkhana club this weekend 14/15 February. The four teams are:
- Lanna CC
- United CC
- Patong CC
- Pattaya CC
Each team will play three matches with the team fee set at 8000 baht including lunch provided by the UN Irish Pub. There is also a tournament function at Zoom Bar on Saturday night.

Saturday 14th February
09:45 – Match 1 – Pattaya v United
12:00 – Match 2 – Lanna v United
14:45 – Match 3 – Pattaya v Patong
17:00 – Close of play drinks
20:00 – Complimentary buffet for all teams at Zoom Bar
Sunday 15th February
09:45 – Match 4 – Lanna v Patong
12:00 – Match 5 – United v Patong
14:45 – Match 6 – Lanna v Pattaya
17:00 – Close of play drinks and Presentation Ceremony
Tournament Rules
- All matches will be 15 x 6 ball overs
- Maximum of 3 overs per bowler
- Overs bowled in 5 over batches from alternate ends
- Two run penalty for wides
- Wides are only rebowled off the last ball of the over
- Batsmen retire (not out) upon scoring 50
- Minimum of 6 fielders (including bowler and keeper) inside the 30-yard circle at all times
- One new ball will be supplied for each match
- Maximum time between innings is 10 minutes
- Maximum time between games is 10 minutes
- Minimum acceptable over rate is 15 overs per hour
- No drinks intervals
Points and Tournament Standings
- The winning team in each game receives 4 points
- The losing team received no points
- If the game is tied, each team received 2 points and no account shall be taken of wickets fallen
- Bonus points will be allocated as follows:
Batting side: 1 bonus point for the first 100 runs scored and 1 additional point for every 25 runs thereafter
Bowling side: 5 wickets = 1 point / 8 wickets = 2 points / 10 wickets = 3 points
- If two teams are tied on points at the end of the tournament, the winner of the match between the two teams will be declared the winner of the tournament.
